Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC)

In your U14s Nippers you will  partake in the Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC). As nippers you have already begun your training to becoming lifesavers and your SRC is the next step on that journey. The SRC is an exciting five-week course that will further your skills and knowledge toward becoming a junior lifesaver at Bronte Surf Life Saving Club. 

The SRC course begins on Sunday 13th October. The course will run over 5 weeks on Sundays from 8 am - 11 am. 

In the SRC Course you will learn and be assessed on the following:

  • SLSA Signals & Radios
  • Surf Awareness
  • CPR
  • First Aid
  • Rescue Techniques

For the SRC Assessment there is a minimum requirement of that you complete a 100m-100m-100m Run-Swim-Run in under 5 minutes. 

The assessment will be run in two parts. The following dates have been scheduled:

  • Part A Assessment - Thursday 7th November 6:45 pm - 9 pm at Bronte SLSC

  • Part B Assessment - Sunday 10th November 8 am - 11 am at Bronte SLSC
