Child Safety and the SLSA Child Safe Policy 6.04

Bronte Surf Lifesaving Club is committed to child safety, promoting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and preventing abuse, harm, and exploitation. Our Board of Management re-committed to its Child Safe Commitment Statement on 16 October 2024.

All Club members, employees and people working in and using the Club facilities are expected to treat children and young people respectfully and adhere to the Child Protection Laws and the SLSA Child Safe Policy 6.04. For further information and the most up-to-date version of the SLSA Child Safe Policy, visit SLSA Child Safe.

Bronte Surf Lifesaving Club maintains a Child Safe Committee responsible for reviewing and implementing child protection activities at the Club, promoting best-safeguarding practices and acting on any reported concerns for the welfare of our young members. Our Child Safe Coordinator can be contacted directly with any Club-related child safety concerns and questions.

Keeping children and young people safe requires all members to be vigilant and report any child safety concerns. All Club members have a responsibility to speak up if they become aware of or observe anything considered inappropriate.
