Training Team Member of the Year: Nigel Harvey

Assessor cannot be understated.  We have often been able to get a boat on the beach only because of the five IRB Crew and three IRB Driver courses Nigel has assessed! IRB courses require the surf to be just right, few surfers, and early mornings. So, they are often scheduled at short notice. Nigel has made himself available.

Nigel has assessed Bronze Medallion courses for the past few years. He has brought energy, enthusiasm and fun to assessments. He challenges candidates with innovative and realistic scenarios. When asked about Nigel, one trainer said, “He is good at phrasing questions for teenagers in SRC assessments. He is good at outlining his role as an assessor at the start, so it is clear for the people he is assessing. He is calm and good at rewording questions if people are not understanding what he is looking for.”

Nigel has never let the growing demands of RTO compliance stop him. This season he sat in the branch office for two weekends upskilling to meet the new requirements. Always seeking a new challenge, he is striving to become a facilitator for the club.
