Parent Responsibility

The Nipper program at Bronte is successful due largely to the number of parents and club members who continue to assist in all areas of the program, devoting time and energy into ensuring the kids have fun and hopefully making them into future lifesavers.

Nippers can not run without parent volunteers. There are many ways in which you can help and we encourage all parents to choose something that suits them.

Nipper Parent - it is compulsory that at least one parent registers as a Nipper Parent. You are then able to assist with beach based activities, as well as on the BBQ and merchandise tent.

Active Parent - active patrol member - Bronze Medallion certified and with full club membership rights. To assist in the water in any water based activity with your kids during Nippers, you must be an Active parent with a Bronze Medallion.

Associate Member - over 35, not active but full club membership rights.

Nipper Parents are unable to assist in the water unless they have completed their Bronze Medallion. Bronte SLSC runs two Bronze courses a year, commencing in February and October. More information on the Bronze Course can be found here.

If you are keen to become involved in Nippers, please register yourself the same way you have registered your child/children. You will need your own lifesaving online account and therefore your own username. Your password can be the same for all family members.
