Waverley Council Funding

As many of our members may have read in the Wentworth Courier recently, Waverley Council have pledged financial support for both Tamarama and Bronte Surf Life Saving Clubs.

Our Club has been in discussion with the Council over recent months (years!) regarding the deteriorating condition of our Clubhouse. Waverley Council passed last week a resolution to commit to just over one million dollars to our Club’s building facility. Next step is for the Club and Council to map out how we integrate our plans with Council's, to commence the physical process. The Board of Management is delighted with this outcome and are extremely grateful to Waverley Council for this investment into the local beach-going community’s wellbeing.

Waverley Council - Draft Community Strategic Plan

The draft Community Strategic Plan and associated documents are now on public exhibition.

Late last year, Council commenced an extensive community engagement program which sought to ensure everyone in the community had the opportunity to shape the future of Waverley.
The aim was to determine where we are now, where we want to be in 2029 and how we will get there.

More than 800 community members took the opportunity to share their aspirations for Waverley and tell us what our priorities over the next 11 years should be.

The Community Engagement Report, prepared by the UTS Centre for Local Government, summarises the methodology used and provides analysis of the engagement findings.
