Thanks Bondi to Bronte Volunteers

Bronte's Board of Management’s wishes to extend their gratitude to the efforts of all our volunteers last weekend. We were obviously challenged by the water temperature but our preparation for hosting the event at Bondi was second to none and this was vindicated by what occurred on the day.

Everyone played their part, led brilliantly by Kimberly Johns in the office. There were so many individuals who performed beyond what they were asked to do and it would be unfair to name them in front of what everyone did. From the heroics that our first aid team performed, the wonderful efforts of our water safety and IRB team to our volunteers just simply packing away tables after being at Bondi for six hours.

I saw a number of tweets and comments about how proud members were to be a part of the Bronte Surf Club. It is events like last weekend and working so closely with other members that makes this club so special.

Photos can be found on Bronte's and Bondi to Bronte Facebook pages.

Thank you again one and all.

Basil Scaffidi

Thanks West Harbour Pirates

Huge thank you to West Harbour Pirates who came to volunteer for Bondi to Bronte. Your muscles, great humour and willingness to help till the end of the day was greatly appreciated by everyone at Bronte SLSC.

See you next year Pirates.

A late change of venue and water as cold as many veterans remember it ever having been didn’t deter our fearless Nippers who took on either the 400m or 800m Bondi Bay swim. An awesome effort from those who finished their first ever competitive ocean swim, and those who beat their personal best.

Alexander Doble was the lucky winner of the JM Nipper board and Ed Baxter took home the bluetooth speakers donated by Bruce Jones from Sands Promotions.
