GEAR INSPECTION - Help Needed Saturday 1st September

Every year our club lifesaving and training equipment is inspected by Surf Life Saving in preparation for the new season.

Many hands make light work and most of it has already been done, we just need some volunteers to set out every rescue board, tube, first aid kit, resus manikin etc. We even need to put up the patrol tent!

Two timeslots for helpers:

Friday Set up: 3.30-5pm
4 people required

Saturday Set up: 6.15-8am
6 people required

Saturday Pack Away: Approx. 10am – 12noon
6 people required

Please email Kimberly to advise which time slot you can help with.

Renovations are currently been done to the back area of the Surf Club, with new board storage, easy access and a general clean up. This will mean that all old skis in this area will be sent to the tip. All equipment that is to be thrown out will be marked.

If you own an old ski stored in the club (mainly in the back area) please email by Friday 31st August and let us know what you would like to do with it.

All old skis not claimed will be sent to the tip. If you would like to buy an old ski, please email Victoria.

For Bronte Patrol Members Only

Member mental health and well-being is everyone’s business. To address issues and implement new initiatives SLSNSW need your perspective and input. Please take 10 minutes to complete this survey for the benefit and support of you and your fellow volunteers and members.

The survey has been developed based on international research into best practice approaches to develop and maintain health and well-being. You will be asked about factors relating to member well-being while volunteering for Surf Life Saving. There will be a number of identified 'psychological factors' utilised by CommuniCorp Group, a specialist psychological consultancy.

Your responses to this survey are completely anonymous and are maintained as confidential. CommuniCorp Group are hosting this survey, and all participant responses will be collated and reported on in aggregate before being presented as a report to SLSNSW with associated recommendations.

Bronte SLSC provides training for all Members with their Bronze Medallian. Training is not aimed at Competition, it is aimed at giving as many Members as possible an avenue to improve their surf skills and fitness in a supportive environment. We encourage all our Water Safety and Patrol Members to get along to our Pilates sessions with Harries, and also get along to Board Training as much as possible.

We communicate through a WhatsApp chat room, and encourage anyone with interest to join by texting  your name and weather you are on patrols or WS to your David Finnimore on 0410 638 126. (For Insurance you do need to have your Bronze to attend)
