Bronte patrollers have an opportunity to patrol at Garie on the weekend of 14/15 April 2018
Garie Beach is in the beautiful Royal National Park a bit over an hour drive away. It is a beautiful spot and can oscillate between serenity and handling a deluge of daytrippers bringing some serious search and rescue work when things go wrong - think supporting helicopter rescues from the Figure 8 pools, bushfire evacuations, and accidents and dehydration by inexperienced bushwalkers to Wedding Cake Rock.
In addition to a weekend of upskilling - Garie is a very large beach so lots of opportunity for board, IRB and search and rescue training - we will enjoy a social bbq on the deck on the Saturday evening (and yes, you can come just for the bbq). If you want to stay, bring a mattress and a sleeping bag. Also your patrol uniform etc!
If you are interested in spending the weekend at the Royal, or just signing on for a shift over the weekend, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
This is also a great chance to really bulk up your patrol hours for all those keen beans chasing 100 hours!
